About the Job

Deloitte is hiring a Consultant (Data Privacy) to join its Cyber team in Mumbai. The role offers an opportunity to work with clients on data protection compliance, privacy frameworks, governance, risk assessments, and implementation of privacy management solutions.

Position

Consultant (Data Privacy)

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
• CIPT, CIPM, CIPP/E, or other relevant privacy certifications are preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, particularly India’s data protection framework.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop data protection policies and procedures in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
• Conduct privacy and data protection risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Monitor data processing activities to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Advise clients on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, and data governance.
• Design and implement privacy and security frameworks, processes, and controls.
• Recommend privacy solutions and develop privacy metrics and dashboards for monitoring and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote awareness of data protection policies and best practices.
• Monitor global developments in privacy laws and update policies accordingly.
• Maintain records of processing activities and data protection compliance documentation.
• Support implementation of privacy management tools, including consent and preference management and Data Subject Rights (DSR) management.
• Contribute to proposals, whitepapers, and strategic initiatives to strengthen Deloitte’s privacy capabilities.
• Promote knowledge sharing and privacy best practices across teams and regions.
