About the E-Conference

Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Centre of Legal Studies, S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College is organising a 2-Day National e-Conference on the theme ‘A Governing Judiciary: To Be Or Not To Be’ on 29th & 30th October, 2021.

Our Constitutional order vests in Courts a jurisdiction to do justice, at once omnipresent and omnipotent, but controlled and guided by the refined yet flexible censor called judicial discretion. Discretion is extraordinary in its amplitude. Its limit, when it chases injustice, is the sky itself. It shall be exercised by the Judges of the land with scrupulous adherence to judicial principles well established by precedents. A Judge is not a knight errant roaming at will in pursuit of his own ideal of beauty or of justice.

Against this backdrop, the present conference is being organized to provide an opportunity to discuss and deliberate the theme in detail.
