The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, was established in 2010 by the Government of Jharkhand under a dedicated legislative act. Situated in the capital city, NUSRL aims to advance legal education through a comprehensive approach that combines theory, advocacy, research, and institutional engagement.
With a focus on developing skilled legal professionals, the university promotes excellence in areas such as judicial services, legislation, law reforms, and allied fields. The Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, serves as its Rector.
About The Chair
The Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) was established at NUSRL, Ranchi in October 2024 by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, to promote research, teaching and training in Consumer Law. The Chair acts as a “Think Tank” for research and policy related issue on consumer affairs as a distinct subject of study both at Under graduate and Post Graduate levels.
About The Blog Series
This blog series explores consumer affairs through the lens of law, research, and policy, offering insights into consumer rights, market practices, and regulatory developments. It aims to unpack the complexities of consumer protection, from legal frameworks to real-world challenges, enabling readers to better understand evolving issues such as digital marketplaces, product safety, and dispute resolution. By combining analysis with practical perspectives, the series fosters awareness, critical engagement, and informed discourse on the nuances of consumer affairs.
Publication Venue
Accepted and finalised blog posts will be published on the official Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) Blog Series, hosted on the dedicated WordPress platform: ccrpnusrl.wordpress.com. This dedicated platform ensures wide accessibility to academia, legal professionals, and the public interested in contemporary consumer affairs.

Note: These sub-themes are merely illustrative, not exhaustive. Submissions need not be restricted to following the list, as long as they fall in the ambit of themes related to contemporary consumer laws.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be in Garamond, font size 12, spacing 1.5.
Referencing:
Manuscripts must include hyperlinks for relevant legal sources and other information, including any laws, treaties or other legal texts which are mentioned.
Hyperlinks should link to legal sources or reputable news outlets. When referencing primary materials, links must lead directly to the primary source. Linking to secondary sources in place of primary ones may result in the submission being sent back for revisions.
Only relevant legal sources that cannot be accessed online may be cited through endnotes. The endnotes should be in Garamond, font size 10, single-spaced. The authors should follow the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) 4th Edition for footnotes.
- Margins: Left 1 Inch, Right 1 Inch, Top 1 Inch, and Bottom 1 Inch.
- Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
- The usage of AI for writing is strictly prohibited. Any content found to be AI-generated will be automatically disqualified.
- The entries should be submitted only in .doc/.docx format. Along with commenting access.
- Copyright of all blog posts published on the website shall remain with CCRP.
- All moral rights shall vest with the author(s). The manuscripts not abiding to the above guidelines are subject to rejection.
- The Blog would be selected after 21-day peer review process.
- There is no deadline for the submission. We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis.
Review Process
All submissions will undergo a mandatory two-stage review process to ensure the highest standards of quality, originality, and relevance. The entire process is targeted for completion within 21 days.
Note: Please note that the review period may be extended in case of necessary revisions or high volume of submissions.
Stage 1: Initial Screening & Acknowledgement
- Relevance Check: The manuscript will first be checked for adherence to the sub-themes and overall relevance to contemporary consumer laws.
- Plagiarism Check: The content will be subjected to a plagiarism check using Turnitin.
- Acknowledgement: Once the topic is deemed relevant and the manuscript passes the integrity check, an acknowledgement confirming the submission’s movement to Stage 2 will be sent to the author(s).
Stage 2: Double-Blind Peer Review And Editorial Decision
- Review: The manuscript will be sent for a double-blind peer review by experts.
- Comments & Changes: Reviewers will provide detailed comments with suggested changes and revisions to enhance the quality and flow of the post.
- Decision: Authors will receive the review comments along with an editorial decision (e.g., Accepted, Accepted with Revisions, or Rejected). The decision of the CCRP Editorial Board, following the peer review, will be final.
Review Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Originality and relevance to the sub-themes and broader consumer law.
- Clarity of argument and logical flow.
- Depth of research and engagement with existing legal and policy frameworks.
- Adherence to all specified Submission Guidelines.

All submissions must be sent through the google form given below, specifying the submission of a blog in the subject. No biographical information or references, including the name of the author, affiliation and acknowledgements should be included in the text of the manuscript. A cover letter with the name of the author, designation, institution/ affiliation, the title of the manuscript and contact information is to be submitted along with the manuscript.
