The ISUD Blog is a platform for law students to contribute original writing on law, mental health, and justice. Top 10 entries will be featured on the website and selected participants will receive recognition and certificates. Winner and runner-up will get an internship opportunity under Adv. Suhrith Parthasarathy (Focus Law, Chennai).

Blog writing contest titled “Law and Labyrinth – Mental Health and Justice in Dialogue” invites submissions from eligible students between 04.09.2025 and 30.09.2025.
Eligibility
- Open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students.
- Submissions must be solely authored and original to the contributor.

“Law and Labyrinth: Mental Health and Justice in Dialogue”
Submission Categories
- Entries must relate to one of the following sub-themes:
- Analysis of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 and its constitutional status
- The Role of Mental Health in Criminal Justice Decisions
- Representation and Access to Justice for Mentally Ill Persons
- Legal Trauma and Double Harm in Gender-based Violence Cases
- Impact on Women and Child Survivors – Legal Trauma and Reforms Needed
- Courts, Consent, and Capacity: Reimagining Legal Personhood for Persons with Mental Illness
- Legal Access and Mental Healthcare for India’s Destitute
Formatting Guidelines
- Language: English only
- Format: Word document (.docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Line spacing: 1.5, justified alignment
- Structure: Title, 2–4 line introductory summary, clear subheadings, conclusion with key takeaways or final thoughts
- Word limit: 300–1000 words (flexible based on quality)
Submission Guidelines
- Must be unpublished, not under consideration elsewhere, and free from plagiarism, offensive, defamatory, or abusive content
- Hyperlinks preferred for citations, ideally to open access sources
- Plagiarism: 10-15% acceptable with proper citation; 5–8% preferred if paraphrased and sourced correctly; direct copying prohibited
The participation requires a registration (through Google form) and after which the manuscript can be submitted through Email or Google Form Email article to [email protected] or through the Google form. (Link attached below) - Email subject line: “[Article Title] – [Author Name(s)]”
- Email body must include: Full Name(s), Year of Study, Institution affiliation, optional 30–50 word author bio Editorial board reviews on a rolling basis and may request revisions
- The author grants ISUD Blog exclusive license to publish, but retains copyright and moral rights
