About the Centre
The Centre for Women, Child Rights, and Gender Justice is an initiative of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. The center was established with the aim of strengthening existing knowledge and contributing to the discourse surrounding the rights of women, children, and the LGBTQIA+ community from both Indian and global perspectives. The feminist discourse in India is not new; it has evolved over decades. The irony, however, lies in the fact that despite having addressed these issues since time immemorial, women and the LGBTQIA+ community continue to be challenged by heteropatriarchy even today.
