About the Job
Cyient is hiring an Associate – Legal Counsel for its General Corporate & Compliance function.
The selected candidate will be based at the Madhapur office, Hyderabad, and will report to the Senior Counsel – Legal & Compliance. The role involves providing legal and compliance support across multiple jurisdictions while working closely with business and functional teams.
Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- 4+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as an in-house lawyer.
- Preference will be given to candidates with an IT industry background.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones.
- A positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Perform legal activities to protect the organisation’s business interests and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide legal advice to functional and operational teams on business activities, policies, and transactions.
- Analyse and interpret case law, court decisions, and applicable legislation to assess their impact on business operations.
- Draft and review legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other commercial, financial, and operational documents, including purchase agreements, leases, loans, acquisitions, divestitures, and employment contracts.
- Review and approve public statements from a legal perspective to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Conduct regulatory research on compliance-related matters.
- Support legal aspects of HR policies and compliance initiatives.
