About the Job

Khemka & Associates is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Junior Associate to join their team. This full-time, on-site position involves managing daily litigation tasks across various courts in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognized institution with a Certificate of Practice/Bar License from the Bar Council.
• Prior experience in litigation is a plus, but exceptional freshers with relevant skills will also be considered.
• 0-2 years of experience in the courts of Mumbai is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Indian Law and the Indian legal system.
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis of complex legal issues
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English and Marathi languages.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF software, and familiarity with e-filing and other legal tech systems.
• Knowledge of major substantive laws in both civil and criminal law.
• Familiarity with court procedures: Familiarity with the procedures and practices of various courts in Mumbai, including the High Court and subordinate courts.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day litigation tasks in various courts.
• Prepare briefs and lists of dates.
• Conducted detailed research on cases, assisted in preparation for cases, found case laws, and assisted lawyers.
• Assist lawyers in courts and during legal proceedings.
• File cases and perform other related court work.
• Elementary drafting skills with some prior experience in drafting.
• Perform due diligence and other related work for matters.
