About the Job

JPMorgan Chase is hiring an Associate in its Legal Shared Services Team (LSST). The role offers exposure to multiple legal practice areas while providing opportunities to develop legal, operational, and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced global environment. The selected candidate will work closely with onshore practice group attorneys and business stakeholders while supporting legal documentation, corporate governance, and transactional matters.

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

  • Qualification as a Company Secretary along with a law degree from a premier law school in India.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Comfort working with metrics and data measurement systems.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Responding to firm-wide queries relating to corporate governance, legal entities, and signing authority through the AskOTS database.
  • Preparing Powers of Attorney, Incumbency Certificates, and Secretary’s Certificates.
  • Preparing and maintaining Authorised Signatory Lists in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Reviewing and updating signing authority instruments, including Powers of Attorney and Delegations of Authority.
  • Coordinating monthly cost-centre changes and updating signing authority records in GEMS.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate documents, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), reliance and non-reliance letters, commitment letters, syndication letters, and medium-term note documentation.
  • Providing legal analysis and support for legal projects, complex transactions, and remediation exercises.
  • Conducting gap analysis of negotiated agreements against standard templates, playbooks, and policy manuals, and identifying matters requiring escalation.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and collaborating with technology teams to develop legal process solutions.
