About the Job

JPMorganChase is hiring an Associate – Corporate Legal for its Legal team in Mumbai. The role will provide technology legal support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), covering areas including Intellectual Property, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Outsourcing, Third-Party Risk Management, Cloud, Technology Transactions, and Emerging Technologies.

Responsibilities

Provide technology legal advice and counsel to internal clients and their business and governance partners.
Review, interpret, and negotiate supplier agreements.
Advise stakeholders on contractual rights and responsibilities, including compliance with JPMorganChase policies and regulatory requirements.
Support global transactions with a focus on EMEA regulatory requirements.
Handle regulatory remediation projects.
Review and analyse new regulations relating to Outsourcing, ICT, Cloud, and Technology Risk Management.
Support business coverage lawyers with technology and intellectual property due diligence for M&A transactions.
Draft relevant sections of due diligence reports and advise on legal risks under supervision from senior team members.
Provide advice on contract interpretation.
Manage outside counsel for complex legal projects.
Manage end-to-end negotiations and coordinate between business, Legal, and subject matter experts.
Help drive the Legal Department’s strategic agenda.
Participate in Legal Department people initiatives, template production and management, and matter management.

Eligibility

Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
Experience in structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts involving technology.
Strong understanding of key technology and data-related legal issues.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to distil complex information into key messages for business stakeholders.
Ability to analyse novel scenarios with limited precedent.
Ability to conduct self-guided legal research and develop practical solutions to complex business challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in technology, outsourcing, and general third-party commercial contracting or transactional matters.
Qualification from a common law jurisdiction.
Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements relating to technology risk, outsourcing, offshoring, intellectual property, and related areas.
Previous training and experience at a large corporate law firm.
Post-qualification experience in commercial, technology, media and telecommunications, or an equivalent practice area.
