National Law Institute University Bhopal is a public law school and a National Law University located in Bhopal, India. Established in 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh, it is the second law school established under the National Law School system.

Qualifications and other conditions are as per UGC Regulations, 2018. Appointments shall be made on a regular basis as per University rules. Pay fixation shall be made as per the minimum respective Academic Pay Level defined by the 7th Pay Commission notified by the University Grants Commission and other allowances as per University rules and regulations.
Eligibility
- A Master‘s degree with 55% marks or its equivalent in a concerned/ relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET / SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / PhD Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET / SLET / SET.
- Provided, the candidates registered for the PhD programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye—laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such PhD.
Candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
- The PhD degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
- The PhD thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
- An open PhD viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
- The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her PhD. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
- The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her PhD work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSRI CSIR or any similar agency.
The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
Note: NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
The PhD degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times
Higher Education (THE) or (m) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Note: The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) of UGC 2018 Regulation shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.
Desirable: Doctorate / Post Doctorate in the relevant area.
Last Day To Apply
The last date for submission of the duly filled-in application form is 10th July 2023 up to 5:00 pm. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
General Instructions
A separate Application in the prescribed form along with all documents must be submitted for each post. Candidate must deposit an application fee of ₹1,000/- (₹500/- for ST/SC Candidates), through online. The NLIU reserves the right not to fill any or all the posts indicated above.
Note: Candidates who have applied earlier against notification no. 02/2022 NLIUB must submit a fresh application in response to this notification before the deadline to consider his/her candidature, however, need not pay the application fee again.
