About the Opportunity

Accordo Intercollegiate Mediation Competition 2025 is a prestigious event that invites students from law schools and universities across the country to inculcate and imbibe the trending skill of mediation and negotiation. Organized by the ADR Cell of KJCL, this competition resolves to foster the new age skill of mediation and obtain the right acumen to resolve disputes through dialogue, negotiation and mediating skills. While mediation is a fast growing, in-demand dispute resolution mechanism, this platform helps nurture the upcoming young legal professionals to sharpen their critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities and the art of mediation.

Eligibility

• Open to students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law programme in universities/colleges recognised by Bar Council of India.
• Each team shall consist of three members: one mediator and two members acting as client and counsel.
• Cross-institutional teams are not permitted.
• Only THREE teams per college is allowed.
• Any changes in the criteria of eligibility is subject to the discretion of the ADR Cell.

Team Composition

• Each participating team shall consist of three members, all of whom must be from the same institution.
• A Team shall comprise a Mediator and a Mediating Pair.
• The Mediating Pair shall consist of a Counsel and a client.
• After Final registration, no team shall be allowed to change their composition and roles in any rounds.
• If any question arises regarding the same, the ADR Cell of the school of law shall have the discretion upon the same.
• No team shall be accompanied by a coach or an instructor.

Structure of Competition

• Preliminary Rounds: All registered teams will compete in two preliminary rounds which will be 30 minutes each. (ONLINE).
• Pre Quarters: Top 20 teams will move on to pre-quarters which will also be 30 minutes. (OFFLINE).
• Quarter Finals: Top 8 teams will advance to the quarter finals, and the round will be a knock-out round of 30 minutes. (OFFLINE).
• Semi-Finals: 4 teams will compete for the Semi-Finals, which will be a knock-out round of 45 minutes. (OFFLINE).
• Finals: The final 2 teams will contest for the championship for 60 minutes. (OFFLINE).

Release of Confidential Information

• CI for the Preliminary Rounds will be released 30 minutes prior to each round via mail.
• CI for the Pre-Quarters, Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals will be released 30 minutes prior to each round.

Registration Fee

• For Preliminary Rounds: ₹ 2,000/-
• Upon Qualifying to the advanced rounds: additional sum of ₹ 3,000/- per team.

Prize Pool: Worth ₹ 75,000/-

• Best Mediating Pair: ₹30,000/-
• Best Mediator: ₹15,000/-
• Runners up Mediating Pair: ₹20,000/-
• Runners Up Mediator: ₹ 10,000/-

• Commencement of Registrations: 9^th September 2025
• Final Registration Deadline: 4^th October 2025
• Release of Preliminary Problem: 5^th October 2025
• Release of Clarification: 7^th October 2025
• Inauguration and Preliminary Rounds (Online): 10^th October 2025
• Advanced Rounds (Offline): 16^th and 17^th October 2025
• Valedictory Ceremony: 17^th October 2025
