About the Event

The 9th Online Poster Making Competition, themed “Free Speech, not Fake Speech”, invites participants to combine art with legal awareness, promote critical thinking, and reflect on the importance of balancing the fundamental right to freedom of speech with accountability in the dissemination of information.

Through their posters, participants are encouraged to convey powerful messages that uphold constitutional values, promote responsible digital citizenship, and emphasise authentic expression in an increasingly technology-driven society.

Freedom of speech and expression is a fundamental right guaranteed under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India. However, the rise of deepfakes, AI-generated content, and digital misinformation has created new challenges to the responsible exercise of this freedom.

The theme encourages participants to creatively portray the importance of protecting freedom of expression while discouraging the misuse of technology to spread deception. It highlights the distinction between free expression and harmful misinformation, the need for digital awareness, and the responsibility of individuals to verify information before sharing it.
