About the 8th National Moot Court Competition
Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, is delighted to announce the 8th National Moot Court Competition, 2024 (“8th NMCC, 2024”), which shall allow students to deal with an exceptionally crafted hypothetical case to showcase their argumentative skills. The event shall be held with an expert panel of eminent personalities judging the rounds, aiding students in gaining experience and knowledge like never before!
Previous editions have featured some of the best mooting teams the country offers, demonstrating their immense proficiency and setting a high standard of debate and research.
The Moot Proposition
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) was enacted with the primary objective of safeguarding the privacy of individuals in the digital age. This has expanded the scope and powers of regulatory authorities, granting them unprecedented access to personal data under the guise of national security and cybercrime prevention. The Moot Proposition will engage the students in these aspects and put them to the test to showcase their research and understanding.
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act has emerged as a catalyst for the evolution of cyber law, ushering in a new era of enhanced data protection, individual rights, and global cooperation. As technology continues to advance, the DPDP Act serves as a dynamic framework that adapts to the challenges of the digital age, ensuring a balance between innovation, security, and the right to privacy.
