About the Opportunity

The Student Committee for Constitutional Law and Human Rights (SCLHR), School of Law, UPES, Dehradun, is organising the 7th Edition of the National Constitutional Law Competition titled “You, Amend Your Constitution 7.0: The Forgotten Framers” under the III Edition of VidhiUtsav 2026. The competition commemorates 77 years of the Constitution of India and seeks to foster meaningful engagement with constitutional values and principles.

The event provides a distinctive platform for students to critically analyse contemporary legal and social challenges through the lens of constitutional law. Participants are invited to propose and defend constitutional amendments, supported by rigorous research and structured advocacy, thereby encouraging thoughtful discourse and innovative constitutional thinking.

Event Details

Event Name: “You, Amend Your Constitution 7.0 – The Forgotten Framers”

Objective

The competition aims to provide a platform for students to engage with constitutional reform and interpretation. Participants will draft and justify proposed amendments, encouraging constitutional research, analytical reasoning, and advocacy skills. The competition seeks to enhance participants’ understanding of constitutional principles, improve legal reasoning, and develop effective written and oral communication.

Format

The competition will be conducted in two rounds:

  • Round 1 – Written Submission (Drafting and justification of proposed constitutional amendment)
  • Round 2 – Offline Oral Rounds for shortlisted participants at UPES, Dehradun

Eligibility

Open to Students, Research Scholars, and PhD Candidates pursuing graduate or postgraduate degrees from any field of study.

Fee Details

Individual Registration Fee: Rs. 500
Team Registration Fee: Rs. 600

Awards and Prizes

  • 1st Prize: ₹10,000 + Trophy
  • 2nd Prize: ₹6,000 + Trophy
  • 3rd Prize: ₹4,000 + Trophy

Note: Certificates of Merit will be awarded to top participants and Certificates of Participation will be provided to all participants.
