About VIT
VIT was founded in the year 1984 by the visionary Dr. G Viswanathan. In a short span, VIT has witnessed a meteoric rise and set an ambitious growth target, its towering presence in the technical, management and legal education, infrastructure that meets global standards, digitalization and the scholastic faculty who are a cynosure in the academic realm manifests itself.
VIT School of Law (Approved by BCI No. D 331/2014(LE)), the progeny of VIT University, has entered the legal arena in 2014, aiming at high goals to be achieved. The Law School aims to impart quality legal education to nourish the young minds with knowledge of law, teach them the nuances of the legal profession, and equip them to the nitty-gritty of the profession. Our motto is “Sui Generis Sine Dubio” which connotes “unique, without a doubt”.
About the Competition
The Moot Court Society, VITSOL, is set to host its prestigious 6th VITSOL Moot Court Competition in 2026, focusing on the overlap between various forms of Intellectual Property (IP). The 6th Edition will be conducted in a hybrid format with a total prize pool of ₹1,00,000. The competition seeks to reward excellence in legal research, written submissions, and oral advocacy, while providing a competitive and professionally enriching environment for all participating teams.
This highly anticipated event aims to bring together aspiring legal minds from across the country to engage in rigorous advocacy and deliberation. Participants will tackle complex issues within the realms of intellectual property rights, showcasing their legal acumen and proficiency in argumentation.
With a commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of these critical legal domains, the competition promises to provide a platform for participants to sharpen their skills, network with peers, and gain insights from esteemed judges and practitioners in the field.
The 6th VITSOL Moot Court Competition on Intellectual Property Rights shall be held on 3rd March and 13th – 14th March, 2026. The preliminary round will be conducted in Online mode on 3rd March, 2026 and the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final rounds will be conducted in Offline mode on 13th & 14th March, 2026.

Eligibility
The Competition is open for students pursuing a three or five-year LL.B Degree Course from any recognized College/University/Law School subject to the fulfilment of registration formalities.

Important Dates
- 08th February, 2026: Last Date for Seeking Clarifications regarding the Memorial
- 15th February, 2026: Last Date for Registration & Payment of Registration Fees
- 25th February, 2026: Memorial Submission (Soft Copy)
- 3rd March, 2026: Preliminary Rounds (Online)
- 13th March, 2026: Quarter-Final Round (Offline)
- 14th March, 2026: Semi-Final & Final Round (Offline)

Teams from each Participating Institution are requested to fill the Registration Form in order to confirm their participation.

The registration fees of Rs. 4,500 shall be paid through the QR Code link, under the Event Name ‘6th VITSOL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2026’ Link is here.
Teams will be registered upon receipt of online payment of Rs. 4500. The registration fee is non refundable under any circumstances.
Registration will close on 15th February, 2026. No further extension will be provided.
The details provided in the registration form shall be final for the purposes of certificates and awards. Multiple teams from the same institution are permitted to register.
The Team must send a Soft Copy of their memorial for evaluation to [email protected] on or before 25th February, 2026.
