About S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College

The vision of uplifting the education of girls among all sections of the society and the need of empowerment of women led Late Ram Kishore Khanna, Late Shyam Narayan Kapoor, Late S.N.Kakkar and Late Prof. D.D.Khanna to lay the foundation of S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, a Constituent College of the Central University of Allahabad in 1975, the International Year for Women.

The college caters to the educational needs of girl students, and has grown from a single faculty to a composite institution. It has 05 faculties at UG level namely Bachelor of Arts (B.A.),Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Five Year Integrated Law Course. It offers postgraduate courses in Arts and Science stream that is M.A., M.Sc. as well as research, i.e., Ph.D. The college has been graded by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at ‘A’ grade in last two cycles of five years each, i.e., for 2014-19 and 2020-25 for sustaining high standards in teaching and continuous efforts in promoting girl child education.

About the Opportunity

Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Centre of Legal Studies at S.S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, is pleased to host the 4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra National Moot Court Competition. The Competition is being organised in collaboration with Chandhiok & Mahajan, leading law firm of India, SCC Online as the exclusive Knowledge Partner and SCC Times as the exclusive Media Partner.

The competition aims to foster research skills, enhance analytical and critical thinking, and showcase the art of persuasion through an exciting contest of legal minds. The competition carries a prize money of Rupees Two Lakhs and Rupees One Lakh to the winning team and the runner-up team, respectively, along with several other prizes.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students who are currently enrolled in a Five-Year Integrated Course in Law in an institution that is officially recognised by the Bar Council of India. Each institution is entitled to send only ONE team in the competition.

Theme

The moot proposition revolves around the increasingly contested intersection between Competition Law and Data Protection Law in the context of digital markets.

Registration Fee

The shortlisted teams shall register themselves by paying the registration fee of Rs. 3000/- (per team) no later than 10:00 PM IST 1st November, 2026.

  • Last date for final registration & payment of fees- 1st November, 2026
  • Submission of Hard copies of the memorials- 5th November, 2026
  • Date  of competition- 12th & 13th November, 2026
