About the University

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna was established under Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006 under the patronage of the Government of Bihar. The University is accredited by NAAC and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and registered with the Bar Council of India (BCI).

The teaching pedagogy at CNLU emphasizes classroom lectures, presentations, and the holistic development of students. Over the years, CNLU students have brought laurels to the University through achievements in moot court competitions, debates, and sports events. Eleven batches of CNLU have graduated and are placed in leading law firms, corporate houses, banks, and reputed foreign universities.

About the 4th CNLU Cyber Law National Moot Court Competition, 2026

Chanakya National Law University, Patna, proudly announces the 4th edition of the CNLU Cyber Law National Moot Court Competition, 2026 in collaboration with J. Sagar Associates. The competition aims to encourage research and advocacy in the evolving field of cyber law.

The rapid expansion of cyberspace has necessitated robust and efficient regulatory mechanisms to strengthen the legal framework governing digital interactions. This competition seeks to simulate real-world cyber law disputes and equip participants with practical insights into contemporary cyber legal issues. The Moot Court Committee of CNLU strives to provide participants with a realistic and enriching experience in cyber law advocacy.

The competition comprises of two stages. Stage I shall be the Memorial Qualifier Round. Memorandum is to be prepared and submitted on the moot proposition. The top 16 teams based on memoranda scores are to appear for the oral rounds. This shall be open to all teams which successfully register for the competition. The results of this round shall be based on evaluation of memorials and shall determine the top 16 teams which will proceed for Stage II.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students enrolled in a three-year or five-year LL.B. programme at institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Each institution may register up to three teams.

Each team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher, or two speakers only.

Venue

All rounds of the competition — Preliminary Rounds, Semi-finals, and Final Round — shall be conducted offline at Chanakya National Law University, Patna, Bihar.

Registration Fee

₹4,500 (Non-refundable)

Payment shall be made to the official bank account of the University, as specified in the registration form.

The winning team will also be offered internship opportunities with the event collaborator, J. Sagar Associates.

All participating teams will be provided with a certificate of participation or a certificate of merit in accordance with the performance of the team.

All the participants will also be getting one month access to the SCC Online Web Edition to all participants.
