About the Opportunity

Maharshi Dayanand University – Centre for Professional & Allied Studies (MDU-CPAS), Gurugram, is the key satellite campus of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak., is proud to announce the 3^rd National Moot Court Competition 2025, which challenges participants to engage with a meticulously crafted hypothetical case, testing their legal acumen, advocacy skills, and strategic argumentation. The competition will be judged by an esteemed panel of eminent legal personalities, providing participants with an unparalleled learning experience.

Theme

The theme of the moot problem revolves around the intricate interplay between criminal liability, mental health defenses, and substance-induced impairment in the realm of criminal jurisprudence. It raises critical legal questions concerning the threshold of diminished responsibility as a defense in cases of violent crimes, particularly in light of psychiatric conditions and drug intoxication. The problem challenges participants to navigate the delicate balance between justice, public safety, and the rights of the accused in a rapidly shifting legal landscape.

Eligibility

All students enrolled in bona fide undergraduate law courses (3 Yrs/5 Yrs LL.B.) from any ollege or university are eligible to participate. Multiple teams from the same institution are allowed.

• Winning Team Award: ₹31,000 and a trophy.
• Runner-Up Team Award: ₹15,000 and a trophy.

• Online registrations are open from 13th March 2025. The teams must register online by 2nd April, 2025 before 11:59:59 PM. The registration shall be done by filling up the registration form available at:
•  The registration shall be considered complete only when the ‘Registration Fee’ has been paid successfully and the registration form is duly filled with all the credentials.
• The participants will receive an official approval mail from organizing committee carrying the ‘Team Code’ within a week of registration or earlier. The teams shall quote this team code in all further communications with the organizing committee
• Registration fee once paid is non-refundable.
• Teams must complete the final registration form and return it electronically, along with proof of payment and necessary permissions, to [email protected].
