The School of Law at NMIMS Chandigarh, established in 2021, is committed to cultivating legal professionals of exceptional calibre through advocacy training, research, and experiential learning. The campus has had the honour of hosting several eminent members of the judiciary and legal fraternity at its academic and co-curricular events.

About the Opportunity

The School of Law, NMIMS Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana and its official law firm partners, PSL Advocates & Solicitors, is organizing the 2nd NMIMS Moot Court Competition, 2026. Following the success of its inaugural edition, which witnessed participation from law schools across the country, this year’s competition aims to provide a robust national platform for students to demonstrate their advocacy skills, legal research acumen, and analytical abilities.

The competition will be held in offline mode at the NMIMS Chandigarh Campus.

Theme

The Moot Proposition is based on Constitutional Law and Intellectual Property Rights, encouraging participants to engage with contemporary constitutional questions and evolving IP jurisprudence through structured legal argumentation.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students currently enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year Integrated LL.B. programme at any recognised university/college in India.

Teams must consist of three (3) members:

  • Two (2) Speakers
  • One (1) Researcher
  • Registration Fee
  • INR 4,500/- per team inclusive of GST.

Prizes

  • Winner: Cash Prize of Rs. 21,000/- + Trophy & Certificate
  • Runner-Up: Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000/- + Trophy & Certificate
  • Best Speaker: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
  • Second Best Speaker: Cash Prize of Rs. 3,000/-
  • Best Researcher: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
  • Best Memorial: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Registration: 7th February, 2026
  • Last Date for Clarifications: 9th February, 2026
  • Memorial Submission Deadline: 23rd February, 2026
  • Competition Dates: 13th – 14th March, 2026
