About The Opportunity

The 2nd National Level Trial Advocacy Competition, 2026 is being organised by the Moot Court Committee, Faculty of Law, The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh.

The Competition is designed to provide law students with practical exposure to trial court proceedings and to develop essential skills in advocacy, examination-in-chief, cross-examination, objections, appreciation of evidence, case strategy and courtroom etiquette.

The Competition shall be conducted in hybrid mode. The Preliminary Round and Octa-Final Round shall be conducted online, whereas the Quarter-Final Round, Semi-Final Round, Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony shall be conducted physically at The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to students duly enrolled in a full-time:

Five-Year Integrated LL.B. ProgrammeStudents enrolled in any recognised law institution

The institution must be recognised by the Bar Council of India or any competent authority. Only one team from each institution shall be allowed to participate.

Theme

Corporate Crime, Digital Evidence and Trial Advocacy in the Age of Technology

The theme reflects contemporary challenges in criminal litigation involving corporate disputes, digital infrastructure, electronic evidence, forensic examination, conspiracy allegations and courtroom advocacy. The trial proposition involves issues relating to alleged corporate conspiracy, digital logs, CCTV blackout, smart-room access, forensic toxicology and admissibility of electronic evidence.

Certificates of participation shall be awarded to all participating teams. For the online rounds, certificates shall be issued in e-certificate format, whereas for the offline rounds, certificates shall be provided in physical form.

Interested teams shall register through the official registration form circulated by the organisers. Registration through email or any other mode shall not be accepted unless expressly permitted by the organisers.
