About the Opportunity
The Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition, inaugurated in 2002, is one of the most prestigious platforms for budding legal professionals to delve into complex aspects of corporate law. This esteemed competition brings together participants from premier institutions across India, offering them an opportunity to explore intricate facets of corporate legislation, including the Companies Act, domestic and international taxation, the Foreign Exchange Management Act, securities regulations, and corporate governance.
Theme
The moot proposition for this edition is based on the corporate law.
Eligibility
- The competition is open for students who are studying LLB three-year or five-year course during the current academic year interested in Tax, Corporate and Commercial Laws.
- Students of The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India & The Institute of Company Secretaries of India are also eligible to participate. Students who have completed their law / Company Secretary / Chartered Accountant degrees/courses are not eligible.
Registration Fee
There is no registration fee and the accommodation will be provided by the institution.
Prizes
- Winning team: Rs. 30,000
- Runner-up team: Rs. 15,000
- Best Memorial: Rs. 10,000
- Best Student Advocate: Rs. 10,000
- Second Best Memorial: Rs. 5,000
- Second Best Student Advocate: Rs. 5,000
In addition to the above awards, plaques and certificates are given to other categories of winners. All participants will be awarded participation certificates.

- Last date of Online Registration:25th February 2025
- Last date for receiving soft copies of Reg. Form / Approval letter: 25th February 2025
- Last date for seeking clarifications to the case:25th February 2025
- Release of Clarifications:26th February 2025
- Last Date for Submission of Memorials soft copy (both Applicant and Respondent): 2nd March 2025 (before 05.00 pm)
- Last date for submission of Travel Plans: 27th February 2025
- Submission of Memorials 5 (Five) Hardcopy – both Applicant and Respondent, (No markings, Competition code to be mentioned during Orientation): 7th March 2025
- Orientation, Draw of Lots & Exchange of Memorials: 7th March 2025
- Preliminary Rounds 1 & 2, Octa Finals / Quarter Finals: 8th March 2025
- Semi-Finals, Finals, Valedictory and Prize Distribution: 9th March 2025
- Submission of Judgment (soft copies by email): 10th March 2025
Registration Process
Online registrations are open from 18th January 2025. The teams must register online by 25th February 2025. Teams will have to register online at www.moot.in
Participants will receive an automated system-generated acknowledgement on successful submission of registration. Participants will receive approval as acceptance of their request for participation by 26th February 2025 or earlier.
Option 1 – The Registration form cum Approval letter as provided in the rules duly signed & sealed by your university/college / moot society.
Option 2 – Upload both (i) & (ii) as described below together as a single PDF
- The Registration form cum Approval letter (without seal & signature) as provided in the rules duly filled along with
- A scanned copy of the authorisation letter with a sign and seal from your university/college / moot society
or
An email communication from the official ID (to be filled as notification email ID during the online registration process) of the institution, from your university/college / moot society to complete the registration process.
Note :
1. Signatories on the registration form should be any of the following: – Faculty- in charge of MCA / MCS / MCC, Registrar, Dean, Principal, Director, Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.
- Registrations without the scanned copy of the approval letter from the college/institution/ university or duly attested registration form will not be valid
- Soft copy of the registration and approval letter/ an email communication as a single PDF to be sent by email to: [email protected] marked as 22nd SURANA & SURANA AND JSS LAW COLLEGE CORPORATE LAW MOOT COMPETITION AND JUDGEMENT WRITING COMPETITION 2024-25
REGISTRATION as subject of the mail latest by 25th February 2025. The provisional team code shall be allotted to the registered teams by the Host University soon after receiving of registration particulars. The Provisional team code is to be used for the submission of only the soft copies of your memorials.
