About the Competition

The National Level Competition on Negotiating Transaction Documents (NCNTDs) is a premier event designed to nurture aspiring legal professionals negotiation, drafting, and due diligence skills in India.

This unique competition engages participants in a multi-phased competition mirroring the lifecycle of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions. The competition journey begins with the submission of the Issues list based on the documents and the problem deck provided. This submission of the issues list serves as a foundation for the subsequent stages of negotiation rounds.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open for students who are pursuing LLB (three-year / five-year) courses during the current academic year.
  • A recognized Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one Team for the Competition.
  • A team shall comprise of two members. This composition cannot be altered except with the prior written approval of the Corporate and Business Law Cell (from now on referred to as CBLC).

Prizes

  • Best Team – Certificate of Merit + INR 12,000 (cash prize)
  • Runners-Up Team – Certificate of Merit + INR 10,000 (cash prize)
  • Best Speaker- Certificate of Merit+ INR 8,000 (cash prize)
  • Best written submission – Certificate of Merit + INR 5,000 (cash Prize)
