About The IILM University
IILM University has a legacy of excellence in responsible management education since 1993, established under the Ram Krishan & Sons Charitable Trust. IILM University, Gurugram was set up under the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2018, in Sector 53, Gurugram, and has over 30 years’ standing with 16,000+ alumni.
IILM ventured into legal education in 2018, offering five-year B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes, a one-year LL.M., and a Ph.D. (Law). The IILM School of Law is known for a robust Trial Advocacy culture, supported by the student-led Trial Advocacy Committee, which conducts mock trials, trial advocacy competitions, witness examination exercises, legal drafting workshops, and expert-led training sessions.

Details of the Event
- Event: 1st IILM Trial Advocacy Competition, 2026
- Theme: “Domestic Violence and Abetment of Suicide: Intersection of Criminal Liability, Victim Protection, and Constitutional Safeguards”
- Focus: The proposition engages participants with Sections 3, 18, 20 and 31 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, along with Section 85 and the abetment of suicide provisions under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, alongside constitutional questions on the right to life, dignity, equality and due process.
- Dates: September 24 to 26, 2026
Eligibility
- Open exclusively to students enrolled in a three-year or five-year LL.B. programme during the current academic year at any recognized institution.
- Each institution may send up to two teams.
- Inter-institutional teams are strictly prohibited — all team members must belong to the same institution.
- A team shall ordinarily consist of three members: Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and Researcher.
- With prior approval from the Organizing Committee, a two-member team may be allowed, with one member assuming the dual role of researcher and speaker.
- All teams must adhere to the rules, regulations, and schedule prescribed by the Organizing Committee.

Registration / Submission Procedure
- Step 1 – Payment of Registration Fee: Pay the prescribed fee via the UPI/QR details provided by the organizers.
- Step 2 – Complete Google Registration Form: Fill in the official registration form accurately.
- Step 3 – Upload Payment Acknowledgement: Upload a clear copy of the payment receipt in the form; registrations without proof of payment are incomplete.
- Step 4 – Submit Letter of Authorisation: Each team must upload a Letter of Authorisation issued by their institution; teams without this are not eligible.
- Step 5 – Confirmation: Registration is complete only once the form, payment acknowledgement, and Letter of Authorisation are all submitted. A confirmation email will follow.
- Memorial Submission: Submitted online by September 10, 2026, and offline (4 copies each) by September 24, 2026.
- Clarifications: May be sought up to September 1, 2026, via the designated clarification link.
