About Chameli Devi Institute of Law

The Chameli Devi Institute of Law was established in 2022 in the State of Madhya Pradesh to impart legal education. The college offers B.A LL. B (Hons.) five-year integrated program, B.B.A LL. B (Hons.) five-year integrated program and LL. B three-year Degree program.

As a part of practical training and to provide due exposure to students and teachers, Eminent Jurists, Senior Advocates and Eminent Professors from other Universities are invited to deliver extension lectures, conduct seminars and discussions. These programs not only make law teaching more meaningful but highlight practical aspects of law and enhance practical approaches by refining the knowledge. The profession of law throws open various avenues of career-as a judge, a lawyer, a legal adviser, or a law academician and in the corporate sector.

All courses of CDIL are approved by the Bar Council of India and affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. Chameli Devi Institute of Law established in the year 2022 with the aim to impart intensive and extensive quality education in the field of Law by adopting modern and practical Teaching and Training Techniques and also develop all round personality of the students and inoculate in them the discipline, personal character-physical, moral and ethical, so that they can become better and useful citizens and also be confident and bold to accept the challenges in the field of Law, be it Judiciary, Corporate World or the Law Courts.

About the Opportunity

The 1st Client Counselling Competition 2026, organized by the VERITAS MOOTING SOCIETY at Chameli Devi Institute of Law, represents a pivotal initiative in advancing practical legal education. This competition is meticulously designed to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and the realities of legal practice by enabling law students to refine essential skills in client interviewing and counselling.

Participants will engage in a simulated environment where they will practice eliciting pertinent information, assessing client objectives, addressing ethical considerations, and formulating strategic legal solutions. This distinguished event serves as an essential platform for aspiring legal professionals to cultivate the critical analytical, communicative, and advisory competencies required to thrive in the increasingly competitive and dynamic legal landscape of 2026 and beyond.

Eligibility and Team composition

Students pursuing a full-time 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB program from a university or Institute recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to apply, subject to the criteria and conditions laid down by CDIL, Indore teams will be entertained on “first-come first served basis”. Only up to two (2) entries from a same institute will be registered.

Each team shall consist of two (2) participants. In case of change/replacement of participant of a team, please refer brochure for the same.

Registration Fee

The team should pay a registration fee of Rs. 500/- and furnish the details of the same through the registration form.

Prizes

  • WINNER– Cash prize ₹5000/- + Awards.
  • RUNNER UP– Cash prize ₹2000/- + Awards.
  • BEST COUNSEL– Cash prize ₹1000/- + Awards.
  • PARTICIPANTS- Certificate of participation to all participants.  

Important Dates

  • Opening of registrations: 10th December, 2025 
  • Last date/ closing of registration: 15th January, 2026 
  • Preliminary round: 21St January, 2026 
  • Semi-final & final round: 22nd January, 2026 
  • Valedictory ceremony and prize distributing: 22nd January, 2026

The competition is scheduled in offline mode.
