About Crescent School of Law
The Crescent School of Law (CSL) was established to produce law graduates with a strong understanding of legal principles and the skills to adapt to changes in the legal environment. Its goal is to prepare students to excel in their chosen fields, meet the growing demand for legal professionals in both mainstream and corporate sectors. CSL offers two undergraduate 5-year integrated courses: B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B. (Hons.). Additionally, it offers a 2-year LL.M. program in Criminal Law and a Ph.D. program in Law.
The School is equipped with modern facilities, including campus-wide Wi-Fi, a state-of-the-art library, access to online resources, smart classrooms, making it a vibrant academic hub. The 1st B.S. Abdur Rahman Memorial Trial Advocacy Competition, 2026, hosted by Crescent School of Law, marks a significant step in promoting practical legal education and courtroom excellence among budding law students. As a newly introduced yet promising platform, this competition is designed to simulate real trial court experiences and nurture the next generation of skilled litigators. This competition invites aspiring legal professionals to engage in a highly immersive advocacy experience, focusing on essential courtroom techniques such as examination-in-chief, cross-examination, framing of arguments, and handling of evidentiary issues. It challenges participants with realistic and contemporary legal problems, encouraging them to demonstrate not only their academic proficiency but also their practical understanding of procedural and evidentiary laws.
Participants compete through various stages, beginning with Preliminary Rounds and progressing to advanced rounds such as Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round. Each stage is evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising academicians, practicing advocates, and legal experts, ensuring a rigorous and enriching assessment process. This structured progression offers students an opportunity to continuously improve their advocacy skills, gain constructive feedback, and build confidence in a competitive yet intellectually stimulating environment.
Eligibility
- Students pursuing an integrated 5-year LL.B. program in a university/college recognized by the Bar Council of India can participate.
- Students enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. program in a university/college recognized by the Bar Council of India are also eligible.
- Each institute can send only two teams to participate in the trial advocacy competition.
- If a university has affiliated or constituent colleges, each affiliated or constituent college may register two teams.
Team Composition
Each team shall consist of a maximum of three (3) members: Two (2) Speakers One (1) Researcher/ Witness
Dates
20 and 21 April, 2026– Inaugural, Orientation, Oral Rounds- (Prelims and Quarter Finals). ONLINE
9 or 10 May, 2026 – Semi-Final, Final and Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution. OFFLINE.

- One participant from the team is required to duly complete the registration process by filling out the Google form by clicking the link.
- Registration opens on 31.03.2026 and closes on 15.04.2026, subject to a maximum of 24 teams. Participants will receive an acknowledgement cum approval as confirmation of their online registration & participation periodically after registration.
- Slots are limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each registered team will be assigned a unique team code that must be used throughout the competition.
- No separate acknowledgement of registration shall be issued; registration shall be deemed complete upon submission.
- The details provided in the registration form shall be used for all official purposes, including the issuance of certificates.
- Participants shall ensure that all information, particularly names, is accurate at the time of registration. The registration fees per team is Rs. 2500.
- This shall not be refunded in any case of withdrawal or disqualification from the competition for any reason.
- All the required transactions are to be made to the account mentioned below. There shall be a maximum participation of two teams from each institution
Important Dates
- 15th April,2026-Last date for online registration and payment of fees
- 13th April,2026- Last date for seeking clarification to the case.
- 15th April,2026-Release of clarification
- 18th April,2026 – Last date for submission of Memorials (Both prosecution and Defence) soft copy by EMAIL TEAM CODE.
- 19th April,2026- Orientation, Draw of lots.
- 20th April and 21st April,2026 –Inauguration, preliminary rounds I and II and Quarter finals rounds.
- 9th /10th May,2026- semi-finals, Valedictory and prize distribution.
Registration Fee
Teams must pay a registration fee of Rs. 2500/- and submit the relevant details in the registration form.
Cash Prize
- Winners – TROPHY+ Rs.30,000 Cash Prize.
- Runner Up –TROPHY+Rs.15,000 Cash Prize.
- Best Student Prosecutor – TROPHY+5,000 Cash Prize
- Best Student Defence Counsel – TROPHY+5,000 Cash Prize
- Best Memorial – TROPHY+5000 Cash Prize
- Best Witness – TROPHY +5000 Cash Prize
Deadlines
- 15th April, 2026: Registration Deadline
- 13th April, 2026: Last date of seeking Clarifications
- 18th April, 2026: Memorial Submission (Soft Copy).
