Shri Ram College of Law, Muzaffarnagar, a distinguished constituent institution of the Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, was established in 2004 with a commitment to providing quality legal education and nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible legal professionals.

About the Workshop

Many faculty members, research scholars and post graduate students possess promising research ideas but often require structured guidance in transforming those ideas into methodologically sound high quality academic research work. The proposed workshop seeks to address these needs through a focused and interdisciplinary academic programme.

Nature and Mode of the Workshop

The present workshop uses a Four Quadrant approach designed to create a comprehensive learning experience. It will be organized in ONLINE mode. Sessions will be delivered by invited resource persons from reputed universities and colleges such as National Forensic Science University, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow, Amity University, Chaudhary Charan Singh University etc with expertise in research methodology, legal research, research ethics etc.

The live sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Teams/ Google Meet. Google classroom will be used for coordination, sharing of session links, study material, attendance forms, academic exercises, announcements and workshop related communications.

Each session will be of 45 – 50 minutes. There will be an additional 10 – 15 minutes for Q/A session with the Expert Resource person, followed by a session of academic exercises with the faculty coordinator.  

Objectives of the Workshop

  • Strengthening conceptual understanding of research methodology and developing the habit of academic inquiry
  • Capacity building of participants in identifying research problems, formulating research questions, determining the scope and limitations of the research.
  • Highlight important aspects of doctrinal, empirical, comparative, qualitative, quantitative and multidisciplinary research approaches.
  • Promoting research ethics, academic integrity and responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic research.

Eligibility

The proposed workshop is intended for faculty members, research scholars, postgraduate students, and early-career researchers.

Themes

  • The theme for each day of the workshop has been designed to inculcate essential aspects of research methodology in a progressive manner. Starting with the foundations of research methodology, research design, Research Methods: Tools and techniques, ethics, AI, data collection, academic writing, Journal selection and publication strategy.
  • Each day of the workshop will include a short academic exercise designed to translate the theme of the session into practical learning experience.
