About the Hidayatullah National Law University

Established in 2003, Hidayatullah National Law University has completed the journey of more than one and half a decade. In such a short span of time, HNLU has carved out a niche in the realm of legal education across India and the legacy is soaring towards newer heights day by day with moto Dharma Sansthapanartham  meaning ‘for the sake of establishing the primacy of the laws of eternal values.’

Named after the great legal luminary Justice Mohammed Hidayatullah, the University was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003).

HNLU is the sixth in the series of National Law Schools across India. HNLU has been included in the list of the Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to receive Central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India under section 7 of the Advocates Act 1961.

About the YourDost Health solutions

Hidayatullah National Law University has signed an MoU with YourDost Health solutions Pvt Ltd for online counselling to students to deal with the emotional  stress of their acaedemic life which has been aggravated during this pandemic period. The online wellness platform can be accessed by students to reach out to professional counsellors of the firm which will ensure confidentiality and privacy of the students. The service provider will also be conducting webinars and other programmes to help students to cope with tremendous stress they are undergoing at this time. The firms will also conduct offline programmes and meets once the University is reopened.

The mental and motivational scaffolding is the grueling need of the hour of the present educational system. The University has been delivering digital classes and remote evaluation solution in the last nine months and has engaged this service provider due to the request of many students who are stressed out of the deprivation of campus space. The YouDOST interface to be managed by the Legal Aid Cell (LAC) committee headed by Dr. Balwinder Kaur. The programme will currently will give online support and will continue offline once the campus is reopened.  On the luanch of this programme, Dr.Balwinder said that “YourDost to the students is yet another initiative of the University to provide out-of-the-class support to maintain a life-study balance and will be regular one even in post pandemic period.”
