About University of Mysore

The University of Mysore was established on July 27, 1916. It is the sixth oldest in the country and the first in the state of Karnataka. Also, in a sense it is the first university of the country to be established outside the limits of the British India. The university was founded as a result of the efforts of the benevolent and visionary Maharaja of erstwhile Princely State of Mysore His Highness Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar – IV (1884-1940), and the then Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya (1860-1962). It was the first University to be accredited by NAAC in 2000 with Five Star Status. The university is now ranked 19th in the India Rankings 2021, NIRF-MHRD, Government of India.

About Call for Papers

It welcomes submissions on the International Webinar on the Fragmentation, Synergy, and Coherence of the Intellectual Property and International Environmental Law Regimes from esteemed professors, research scholars, and students. Accepted articles will be published in an edited book with an ISBN number, and a subset of outstanding papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Eligibility

Academicians, practitioners, researchers, and students in the field of law are invited by the Editorial Board to submit their research articles.

Theme

The overarching theme of the webinar is the intricate interplay between innovation and sustainability within the framework of legal and environmental considerations. It seeks to explore synergies in innovation and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of navigating legal interfaces and addressing fragmentation in the pursuit of green technologies.

Moreover, the webinar aims to promote access to these technologies while harmonizing stakeholder perspectives for a sustainable future. It delves into the synergy of environmental law and intellectual property, highlighting the necessity of achieving coherence and finding harmony between seemingly disparate fields. Bridging the divide of climate change and intellectual property rights is emphasized, as well as navigating the complexity of these issues to harmonize practices for a more sustainable future.

Submission Guidelines

Submitted abstracts must not exceed 150 words, must include a title, and be accompanied by five keywords and final manuscript must be between 5000-8000 words.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Submissions must conform to the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA), 4th Edition.
  • The font shall be in Times New Roman, size 12 with a line spacing of 1.5.
  • Footnotes shall be in Times New Roman, size 10 with single line spacing.

Prizes

Certificates: Digital certificates with QR code verification will be awarded based on active participation.

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submission: June 15, 2024
  • Final Draft: 10th June 2024
  • The decision on publication will be intimated on the 12th July 2024

  • Submissions are accepted only in electronic form.
  • Submissions must be made in Word format (.doc)/(.docx)
  • The submission must be accompanied by a cover letter stating the title of the manuscript, the name, and details of the author/authors, and the author’s contact details.
  • Co-authorship of a maximum of two persons is allowed.
  • The proper acknowledgment must be given for such use of literature in the article submitted.
  • The submission will be run through anti-plagiarism software and plagiarism in any form will result in rejection of the submission.
