Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (VFSTR), a deemed to be University, is known for its academic excellence and commitment to holistic education. Vignan Institute of Law (VIL), established in 2020, aims to advance and disseminate legal knowledge through innovative teaching and practical exposure. The institution focuses on bridging the gap between law and technology, preparing students for the evolving legal landscape.

About the Opportunity

The VIL 1st Inter University Moot Court Competition, 2026 provides a platform for law students across India to enhance their research, advocacy, and analytical skills. The competition simulates real courtroom experiences and encourages participants to engage with contemporary legal issues.

Theme

The moot proposition is based on contemporary issues involving: Forensic Law, Artificial Intelligence, and Criminal Law, focusing on the use of Facial Recognition Technology and AI in criminal justice.

Eligibility

1. Open to law students pursuing 3-year LL.B. or 5-year LL.B. programs

2. Participants must be enrolled in institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India

3. Each team shall consist of 3 members (2 speakers + 1 researcher)

Registration Fee

Rs. 3000/- per team

Prizes

  • Winner: Rs. 30,000/-
  • Runner-up: Rs. 20,000/-
  • Best Speaker: Rs. 5,000/-
  • 2nd Best Speaker: Rs. 2,500/-
  • Best Memorial: Rs. 5,000/-
  • 2nd Best Memorial: Rs. 2,500/-

Trophies, cash prizes, and certificates of merit shall be awarded to the Winner, Runner-up, Best Speaker, and Best Memorial. All participants shall receive certificates of participation.

  • Release of Brochure: 16th March 2026
  • Last Date for Registration: 31st March 2026
  • Last Date for Clarifications: 2nd April 2026
  • Memorial Submission Deadline: 8th April 2026
  • Preliminary Rounds (Online): 10th April 2026
  • Quarter-Finals (Online): 11th April 2026
  • Semi-Finals & Finals (Offline): 25th April 2026
