About the Event
VidhiVedh brings together two resonant ideas. Vidhi signifies more than law in its technical sense; it embodies the disciplined framework through which justice is administered. Vedh suggests a piercing awareness – an intuitive anticipation that something significant is about to unfold, that an issue demands to be examined beyond the surface. The theme turns upon the delicate interplay of religion and rights within the realm of reason. Everything will be heard, examined & tested – all within the structured scrutiny of a constitutional hearing
The event will bring together law students, academicians, practicing advocates, NGOs, and members of women’s organizations, creating a vibrant platform for meaningful legal discourse and intellectual engagement.
On 7th April 2026, a Nine-Judge real Constitution Bench hearing of the Supreme Court of India will hear the petitions arising from Indian Young Lawyers Association v. State of Kerala. The Sabarimala case, stemming from a centuries-old practice that restricted women of menstruating age from entering the temple, was revisited in 2018 when the Court allowed women of all ages access to the shrine. The Bench will hear arguments that go to the very heart of our constitutional democracy, exploring how equality, liberty, and faith can coexist within India’s pluralistic society. Five days prior, on 2nd April 2026, we are conveying something rare. This event recreates this constitutional moment before it unfolds in reality. Through this simulation, we mirror the structure, grand decorum, and analytical depth of this real constitutional proceeding.
