The WBNUJS, Kolkata organised the Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Conclave

The WBNUJS, Kolkata organized the Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Conclave at WBNUJS, Kolkata on November 25, 2023. The Conclave was organized in collaboration with the Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust and was supported by the Tata Group.

This Conclave was being held to mark the golden jubilee of the “Kesavananda Bharati Case” and celebrate the legal stalwart Nani A. Palkhivala’s immense contribution to the development of the Basic Structure Doctrine. The Conclave is a significant gathering that brings together legal luminaries, scholars, and students to engage in thought-provoking discussions on ‘the works and legacy of Nani A. Palkhivala’ and ‘Application of Basic Structure Doctrine to Contemporary Issues’.

The Chief Guest for the event is Hon’ble Justice Dipankar Datta (Judge, Supreme Court of India), and other keynote speakers include Jamshed P. Cama, Senior Advocate; Senior Advocate, SN Mookherjee; Mrs. Swati Kapadia, CEO, Nani A. Palkhivala Trust; and Mr. Sidharth Sharma, General Counsel, Tata Group among other guests.
