Project Saksham 2.0, a collaborative initiative involving Law Center 1, Law Center 2 of the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Indraprastha University, Jamia Hamdard University, Nek Mission Foundation, and Naksh Foundation, has reached a significant milestone. This project, centered on legal aid and literacy, undertook comprehensive initiatives to address the legal needs of communities in Delhi. The culmination of these efforts will be celebrated in a valedictory session at the Conference Center, University of Delhi, on December 5, 2023.

Introduction and Project Overview

The valedictory session provides an opportunity to assess and acknowledge the accomplishment and impact of Saksham 2.O projects, highlighting their positive outcome and contributions. The project involved door-to-door visits across 12 areas in Delhi, providing free legal aid to those in need. Subsequent mega camps, featuring legal aid, health, labor, and senior citizen desks, served as a platform to address diverse community issues. Noteworthy, the project also organized seminars for legal awareness and conducted special visits for the LGBTQ2+ community and sex workers.

Project Highlights and Achievements

The collaborative efforts of the participating institutions have yielded tangible results, fostering legal empowerment and community resilience. Mega camps became hubs for addressing multifaceted challenges, and seminars contributed to raising legal awareness among diverse audiences. Special visits underscored the project’s commitment to inclusivity and justice for marginalized communities.

Special visits like shelter home visits, police station visits, jail visit,s and several educational & distribution drives were conducted for wider exposure.

Valedictory Session Details

The valedictory session, scheduled for December 5, 2023, at the Conference Center, University of Delhi, will host distinguished Chief Guests—the Deans of the collaborating universities. Anticipating around 500+ law students and lawyers as physical participants, the event will be covered by esteemed media partners, LiveLaw, Law Octopus, and Law Bhoomi, as well as various social media groups.

Future Initiatives: Project Saksham 3.0 Launch

As we conclude Project Saksham 2.0, we look forward to the future with the upcoming launch of Project Saksham 3.0. This ambitious expansion will encompass six states—Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand—in collaboration with 18+ universities. To mark this occasion, deans from the partnering universities are invited as special guests to the valedictory session, symbolizing the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to legal advocacy.
