Symbiosis Law School NOIDA Team Excels at Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition 2026

Three students from Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, have brought international recognition to their institution through their performance at the Asia Cup International Law Moot Court Competition 2026. The team comprised Tarishi Verma, Yashika Rawat and Samridhi Sharma.
The competition was jointly organised by the Japanese Society of International Law and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. It attracted participation from more than 80 teams across Asia, including over 20 teams representing India.

The selection process was highly competitive, with only 16 teams qualifying for the International Oral Rounds held in Tokyo, Japan. Among the participating Indian institutions, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, emerged as the only team from the country to qualify for this stage.
Apart from securing a place in the international rounds, the three students also achieved notable results in the written memorial categories. Their performance placed the institution among the leading teams in the competition’s written advocacy assessments.
The SLS-NOIDA team secured second rank in the Respondent Counter-Memorial category and fifth rank in the Applicant Memorial category. These rankings reflected the quality of their written submissions and their ability to present legal arguments involving complex questions of international law.
The competition required participants to engage with issues relating to Public International Law and treaty law. Preparing memorials in such competitions involves detailed legal research, interpretation of international legal principles and the development of arguments supporting different legal positions.
