S&A Law Offices acted for AI Assets Holding Limited (AIAHL) in connection with the successful sale and transfer of the iconic Air India Building, located at Nariman Point, Mumbai, to the Government of Maharashtra (through the Governor of Maharashtra) for a total consideration of INR 1,601 Crores.
The transaction marks one of the most significant government real estate acquisitions in recent years and represents a key milestone in the strategic monetization and divestment of non-core assets of the erstwhile national carrier, which were transfered to AIAHL.

The sale assumes particular significance within the broader framework of Air India’s disinvestment, one of the most consequential and closely scrutinized privatization initiatives undertaken by the Government of India. As the designated entity responsible for the management and monetization of Air India’s residual assets, AIAHL has played a pivotal role in advancing this mandate.
