About National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU)

National Law Institute University Bhopal is a public law school and a National Law University located in Bhopal, India. Established in 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh, it is the second law school established under the National Law School system.It is one of the most prestigious and best law schools in India. 

About Organisation

The Legal Aid Clinic (LAC), National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) is a student-run initiative established under the National Legal Services Authority, inspired by Article 39A of the Indian Constitution. LAC provides free legal assistance to marginalized communities through projects such as Project Saarthi, Project Aapke Adhikaar, Project Bail, and Project Pukaar.

The competition is organised in collaboration with IDIA – Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access, a non-profit organisation founded by Prof. (Dr.) Shamnad Basheer, which works to promote access to quality legal education for underprivileged students across India.

About the Opportunity

The 3rd Justice Quest, 2026 is a Quiz and Turncoat Debate Competition, organised as the third edition of the Justice Quest series. The competition aims to promote academic excellence, constitutional awareness, and discourse on law, governance, and current affairs among students.

Theme

Quiz Competition Theme: 75 Years of the Indian Constitution

• Constitutional history
• Landmark judgments
• Indian independence
• Polity, governance, elections, and current affairs

Turncoat Debate: Topics will be provided on the spot.

Eligibility

• School students (Class 9 and above)
• Undergraduate and postgraduate students of any discipline

Quiz Competition:

• Team size: 1 to 3 participants
• Multiple teams from the same institution are allowed

Turncoat Debate:

Only individual participation is allowed

Registration Fee

• Quiz Competition: INR 500 per team
• Turncoat Debate: INR 300 per participant

• Winner: ₹5,000 & Internship at Zentrum Law Partners
• Runner-Up: ₹3,000 & Internship at Zentrum Law Partners
• Second Runner-Up: ₹2,000

Turncoat Debate

• Winner: ₹2,400 & Internship at Zentrum Law Partners
• Runner-Up: ₹1,500 & Internship at Zentrum Law Partners
• Second Runner-Up: ₹1,100
