Department of Law, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore, is an exclusive institution dedicated to Legal Education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. About the Opportunity

It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to participate in the upcoming PIMR 1st National Client Counselling Competition 2023, scheduled to be held on 20th -22nd October 2023 in a virtual mode through Zoom.

The National Client Counselling Competition is an ambitious event that brings together law schools from across the country to showcase their skills in client counseling and advocacy. This competition provides an excellent platform for law students to develop and demonstrate their expertise in client interaction, problem-solving, and legal ethics.

The competition will consist of multiple rounds, including preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final round. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in simulated client interviews, provide legal advice, and demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate with clients while adhering to ethical standards. Participation in this competition will not only offer valuable experiential learning but also provide an excellent networking opportunity with peers and legal professionals from various institutions.

Eligibility

Students of three-year and five-year law degree courses from any University/School/College/Department are eligible to apply for registration of their team. Students from post-graduate programs or law diploma programs or part-time law programs are not allowed to participate.

A maximum of two teams shall be allowed to participate from a particular University/Law School/College/Department

Theme

  • Problems for Preliminary rounds shall be based on the Law of Torts, Law of Consumer Protection, and Law of Contract.
  • Problems for Quarter-final rounds shall be based on IPR, Law of Contract, and allied laws.
  • The problem for Semi-final rounds shall be based on Criminal Law and Personal Laws.
  • The problem for the Final round shall be based on Constitutional Law and Environmental Law.
  • Participants are bound by the Advocates Act, of 1961, and the legal and professional ethics prescribed therein.

Prizes

  • Winning Team -INR 15,000 (cash prize) and certificates
  • Runner-Up Team- INR 9,000 (cash prize) and certificates
  • Best Team in Preliminary Rounds- INR 5,000 (cash prize) and certificates
  • Best Client (for DOL PIMR Students only)- INR 1100 (cash prize) and certificate
  • Semi-finalist Teams -(04) Certificate of Appreciation

The teams interested in participating are required to confirm their participation by submitting the Google form

Once the registration and payment are complete, the team will be formally registered as a participant for the event, and a team code will be generated and a confirmatory email, together with the team code, will be sent to such team. Thereafter, for all further correspondence with the organizers of the Competition and otherwise, all the registered teams shall identify and refer themselves using the allotted team code only.

Once the registration process is complete, participating teams will be assigned their ushers/team managers and added to the official communications group for the competition. It is mandatory for all the participants to join the said WhatsApp group.
