About Symbiosis Law School

Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, believes in the holistic development of every student, hence making academic and extra-curricular activities an equal part of the curriculum. We understand that researching and drafting is an integral part of legal education in their journey of becoming legal professionals. To achieve this objective, the Student Council of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad organized the Paper Presentation on expansive legal themes encompassing Alternate Dispute Resolution, International Humanitarian Law, and Intellectual Property Rights Law an integral part of Syminaret 2024.

About the Paper Presentation

The Paper Presentation shall include well-researched papers from all those interested, in the themes of Alternative Dispute Resolution, International Humanitarian Law, and Intellectual Property Rights Law. The Papers shall be reviewed by a team of Judges on the basis of originality, contribution to the existing literature, analysis of the topic, and other relevant themes. Abstract submission shall be the first stage, following which, the accepted Papers will be invited for presentation to a Panel of esteemed Judges, experts in their own fields. The Presentation shall involve questions from both, the Panel and the Judges. The Best Presentation and the Second Best Presentation shall be awarded with cash prizes.

• The legality of unstamped Arbitration Agreements, ‘The Road Ahead’,
• The Role of Med-Arb: Integrating Mediation and Arbitration for Effective Dispute Resolution in India,
• Cross-Border Cultural Challenges and Linguistic inconsistencies in the realm of International Arbitration.
• International Humanitarian Law
• Violations of International agreements w.r.t countries (shall deal with tense situations in country v. country, territorial disputes, concept of terra nullius, etc. povs),
• Issues with the UNCLOS and prospective amendments with regard to the same.
• Intellectual Property Rights Law
• Intellectual Property in Fantasy Sports Platforms: Hits and Misses,
• An Overview of IPR as Guardians of the Digital Realm,
• The IP intersection with AI and IoT: Present scenario and what the future holds.

Guidelines of Submission of Abstract

• The abstract shall be of 250-300 words, inclusive of 3-5 keywords. It must provide an overview of the final manuscript and the idea or proposition that the author(s) would propound via their submission.
• The abstract must be in font style Times New Roman, font size 12, alignment justified, line spacing 1.5, and page margins 1 inch on all sides.
• The abstract should not contain any footnotes or references.
• Full Paper guidelines shall be sent once the Abstracts are finalized.

• First place: Rs 4000/-
• Second place: Rs 3000/-

Registration Fees

• Single Author: Rs .400/-
• Co-Author: Rs. 500/-
