Online Workshop on Anti Sexual Harassment Law and Policy by NLUO [Feb 5, 5PM]

The Centre for Women and Law, NLUO will be organising a workshop on ‘Anti Sexual Harassment Law and Policy’ on 5th February, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

About The National Law University Odisha (NLUO)

The National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a vibrant addition to India’s national law universities. About the Workshop

The objective of the workshop is to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including members of the Gender Sensitization Committee (GSICC), the Supreme Court of India, members of the Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs), and staff and students at NLUO.

The objectives of the workshop can be summarized as: to educate participants about the issue of workplace sexual harassment of women; to impart working knowledge of the Sexual Harassment Act, 2013; to assist participants in comprehending the legal position on the subject and how to handle sexual harassment complaints; to familiarise them with the structure and operation of GSICCs and ICCs; to detail the procedure that the GSICC and ICCs will follow when dealing with such complaints, and to ensure that faculty, staff, and students understand the mandatory provisions of the Sexual Harassment Act in order to foster a positive work environment and society at large.

Speakers

Dr. Anindita Pujari, Advocate on Record & Member, Gender Sensitization Committee (GSICC), Supreme Court of India; Ms. Clara D’Souza, Social Activist & Member, ICC, NLUO; and Ms. Dharitri Patnaik, Social Worker & Member, ICC, NLUO shall be the speakers in the Workshop.
