NUSRL Ranchi Students Shine at 8th KIIT Mock Trial Competition 2026
Students of the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, secured notable honours at the 8th KIIT Mock Trial Competition, 2026, organised by KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar.
The NUSRL team received recognition in both individual and team categories at the competition. Piyush Raj, a third-semester B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student, was awarded the Best Researcher Award for his performance during the competition.

Apart from the individual honour, the NUSRL team also secured the Best Memorial Award. The team comprised Piyush Raj, Rajnandani and Divya Anjali Kumari, all third-semester students pursuing B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) at NUSRL, Ranchi.
The Best Memorial Award recognises the written advocacy component of a mock trial competition. Preparing a strong memorial generally requires participants to carefully examine the factual proposition, identify relevant legal issues, conduct extensive research and present their arguments in a structured written format.
