The Centre for Human Rights, in collaboration with the Centre for Criminology and Victimology, School of Legal Studies at K.R. Mangalam University, is hosting a National Symposium titled “From Cells to Society: National Symposium on Prison Reform and Human Rights.” This hybrid conference is scheduled to take place from the 19th to the 20th of September, 2024.

Call for Papers: National Symposium on Prison Reform and Human Rights

The symposium will delve into critical issues surrounding prison reform and human rights, focusing on the following topics:

  • Prison Conditions and Human Rights
  • Gender and Prison
  • Juvenile Justice and Young Offenders

Submission Guidelines

  • Researchers and scholars are invited to submit their abstracts and full papers adhering to the following guidelines:
  • Abstracts: Must be 300 words or less, providing a concise overview of the research objectives, methodology, and key findings.
  • Full Paper: Should be written in English, ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 words, including references, and must comply with the prescribed formatting guidelines.
  • All submissions will undergo a rigorous review process to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Accepted papers will have the opportunity for presentation during dedicated sessions or inclusion in the conference

  • Notification of Abstract Acceptance: 28th August 2024
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: 5th September 2024
  • Notification of Paper Acceptance: 10th September 2024
