About the National Insolvency Law Moot Court Competition 2024

UPES, School of Law, Dehradun is organizing the VII SURANA & SURANA AND UPES SCHOOL OF LAW, NATIONAL INSOLVENCY LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2024 in collaboration with SCC Online and SCC Times as our Media Partner.” The event is scheduled for August 10^th, 2024 in Virtual Mode and September 6^th –7^th 2024 in Offline Mode.

UPES aims to foster a culture where creativity, invention, subject-matter expertise, and critical thinking are encouraged to promote well-rounded personal and professional development. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for passionate law students to involve themselves in intellectual discourse on emerging trends in Law, providing a platform for budding professionals to develop cutting-edge skills in research, writing, and advocacy. 

About the Moot

Welcoming you to the prestigious VII Surana & Surana and UPES School of Law, National Insolvency Law Moot Court Competition 2024 a beacon of legal brilliance and a testimony to the evolving landscape of insolvency law, organized by the UPES School of Law. This Competition has been a cornerstone in shaping the discourse on emerging trends in Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law, providing a platform for budding professionals to develop cutting-edge skills in research, writing, and advocacy.

Initiated in 2018, the competition is a living tribute to the legacy of Surana & Surana, a stalwart in the field of law. What began as a national event expanded its scope in 2022, going national and proudly carrying the banner of insolvency laws across the globe. The Competition has not only grown by leaps and bounds but has also become one of the most coveted moots in the country, attracting participation from top law schools in India.

Eligibility

Students duly enrolled and perusing full-time 5-year or 3-year undergraduate law courses (BA LL.B/ BBA LL.B/ B.com LL.B/ LL.B)  may apply to participate in the competition.

Team Composition

The team participating shall comprise of 3 members wherein there will be 2 speakers and 1 researcher.

Registration Fee

A registration fee of Rs. 3,500/- (Three Thousand Five Hundred rupees only) is to be paid online by the team through Net Banking for Online Rounds. Additional amount for Advance Rounds (including accommodation, transport, food etc) is Rs. 3,000/- (Three Thousand rupees only).
