Navrachana University is a Private University established under the Gujarat Private University Act, 2009. The University has Five schools: the School of Business and Law, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Liberal Studies and Education, the School of Environmental Design and Architecture, and the School of Science. We have around 22 programs across all the schools. The National Conference on Transforming Law and Justice: Perspective and Pathways for the 21st Century, organized by the Faculty of Law from the School of Business and Law, Navrachana University, aims to foster a dialogue on the changing landscape of law and justice in the 21st century. This conference presents an exceptional opportunity for legal scholars, practitioners, judges, policymakers, and students to engage in deep discussions on the evolving challenges and opportunities facing the legal system today.

With a focus on innovative pathways and progressive perspectives, the conference will address contemporary challenges and opportunities in the legal and justice systems, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical applications. Join us as we explore emerging trends, reimagine the role of legal institutions, and chart a progressive course for the future of law and justice in the 21st century.

Participants will engage in a variety of thematic sessions covering crucial issues such as access to justice for vulnerable communities, the role of tribunals and fast-track courts, the use of digital tools in legal proceedings, and the prospects of alternate dispute resolution mechanisms. The conference will also examine international perspectives on justice, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of how global trends impact domestic legal reforms.

This is a unique platform to collaborate, share knowledge, and build pathways toward a more just, equitable, and forward-looking legal system.

Target Audience

The conference is open to academicians, judicial officers, researchers, professionals, practitioners, students of law, political science, and other relevant disciplines, as well as other stakeholders on emerging issues and related areas of the broader sub-themes.

Panel Discussion on the Criminal Justice System:

There shall be a dedicated panel discussion with experts’ deliberations on speedy justice in criminal cases. The panel shall consist of stakeholders of the criminal justice system including the members of the judiciary, a member of the legal fraternity, a member from the media, and a social activist active in victim assistance. The audience will get a unique opportunity to witness an engaging deliberation, which will foster new ideas, and participate in the question-and-answer session.

Participants of the National Conference can submit their research papers and make presentations on the following sub-themes. The sub-themes are indicative and not exhaustive.

About Call for Papers

Research papers/articles and case studies are invited for presentation at the National Conference.

Submission guidelines

  • Abstract Submission:
  • The abstract of a research paper on any of the given themes shall be duly submitted via the link.
  • The abstract shall not exceed 300 words
  • Save your abstract file as: FirstName_Abstract.

Example: If the first author’s name is Aarav, the file should be named Aarav_Abstract.

It should include the following:

  • Title of the paper
  • Keywords
  • Name of the author/s
  • Designation
  • Name of the institution
  • E-mail address
  • Contact details:

  • Full paper:
  • The length of the full paper including tables, diagrams, illustrations, references, etc. shall not be less than 3000 words and shall not exceed 5000 words. (Excluding the footnotes).
  • Save your full paper file as: FirstName_Paper.

Example: If the first author’s name is Aarav, the file should be named Aarav_Paper.

  • The research paper shall be the author’s original and unpublished work. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors. Each author is required to register and pay the registration fee individually.
  • The paper should be typed in Times New Roman 12-point font with 1.5 line spacing.
  • All footnotes must be in Font “Times New Roman”, font size 10, with line spacing. All submissions must follow the “The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th or 21st Edition).
  • The full paper should be submitted in soft copy (only after the acceptance of the abstract has been duly communicated) and shall be sent along with the registration fee screenshot on the form:
  • E-certificates will be provided to all the registered participants.    
  • Selected Papers will be published in a book with ISBN Number.

  • Students: Rs. 750/-
  • Participation is reserved on a first come first serve basis.
