About the Blog
The competition serves as a platform for law students and enthusiasts to showcase their research and drafting skills on contemporary legal issues. It aims to provide a space for academic discourse and high-quality legal analysis.
It is a one-day hybrid event aimed at fostering thoughtful discourse at the crossroads of intellectual property and technology law. The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate law students. The event will feature two main segments:
1. PANEL DISCUSSION – MORNING SESSION An expert-led discussion addressing contemporary legal challenges, emerging issues in IP and technology law, effective blog-writing techniques, and ethical considerations in digital content creation. This session offers participants guidance from leading scholars and practitioners.
2. BLOG PRESENTATION -AFTERNOON SESSION All registered participants will take part in the presentation segment after completing the submission stages outlined below, and those who are unable to attend in offline mode will be permitted to present online through the designated link provided by the
About Call for Blogs
The IPR & Tech Law Committee presents the National Blog Writing Competition ’26, inviting original and unpublished blogs that explore the intersection of law, technology, and intellectual property.
Eligibility
The competition is open to students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate law programs.
Theme
The illustrative themes and sub-themes below are intended to guide participants.
- Emerging trends in copyright, patents, and trademarks in the digital environment, including Al generated content and platform-based creativity.
- Technology law issues such as data protection, cybersecurity, online platforms’ liability, and regulation of Al and digital innovation vis-à-vis IPR.
- Access to knowledge, fair use/fair dealing, open-source and open-access movements, and the balance between innovation, public interest, and private rights.
Formatting Guidelines
Submission Guidelines Registration must be completed via the official Google Form. Abstracts and final blogs must be submitted via the portal links provided after registration. Participants will receive an allotted team code for all communications.
DRAFTING GUIDELINES
- Main text: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified for the main text.
- Headings: Times New Roman, font size 14, 1.5 line spacing, centrally aligned for headings.
- Footnotes (if any): Times New Roman, font size 10, single spacing, justified.
- Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition.
- Plagiarism & Originality: All entries must be original and unpublished. Entries with over 10% similarity will be rejected.
- Al Plagiarism: Use of Al tools for content generation or substantive drafting is strictly prohibited. Limited use of Al for grammar or spell-check may be permitted, provided the intellectual content remains entirely original. Al Plagiarism will result in an immediate ban from the competition.
Submission Deadline
- Registration Deadline: 5th March 2026
- Abstract Submission: 10th March 2026
- Final Blog Submission: 5th April 2026
- Panel Discussion & Presentation: 18th April 2026
Submission Procedure
- Participants must first submit an abstract for review and evaluation. Feedback and suggestions will be provided, after which all participants will be required to submit a finalized blog post for presentation.
- All submissions must include both an MS Word file (.doc or .docx) and a PDF file.
- Submission shall be made via the designated Submission link only.
- Participants must name their file with the allotted team code and the name of the theme.
- For eg. If a participant is having a team code TC 01 and the theme is Copyright and Al in the Digital Age. The file shall consist of the name accordingly; TC01_ Copyright and Al in the Digital Age.
- All submissions must be received on or before Due Date.
- The final results shall be determined based on the cumulative evaluation of both the Abstract Submission and the Final Blog Submission
