All good quality articles will be published in the form of a book/journal/magazine/Electronic resource or any other manner as it may deem appropriate, subject to a sufficient number of good articles.
About Call for Papers
This year to commemorate Legal Aid Week- “Navchetna”, which will be observed from 30th October 2023- 4th November 2023, UPES, Legal Aid Clinic is organizing a National Article Writing Competition.
Navchetna is the name for Legal Aid Week which is a yearly event organized by the LAC every year. This week enlightens the people more about Legal Aid. This week is celebrated to embark on the spirit of the Indian judicial system and spread awareness about legal aid.
Eligibility
The Competition is open to all the students studying in any discipline in the recognized Colleges/Departments of the Universities in India.
Theme
The theme of the competition will be related to Legal Aid and Social Awareness.
Sub-Themes:
- Access to Justice and Legal Aid: Bridging the Gap
- The Implications of ChatGPT for Legal Services and Society.
- National Legal Services Authority Legal Aid Management System.
- Access to Justice through the use of legal technology.
- Analysis of the Functioning of Legal Aid Cells in Various Law Schools.
- Analysis of National Legal Services Authority Schemes.
- Legal Aid and Criminal Justice System
- Legal Aid and technology
Formatting Guidelines
- The article must reflect some concrete suggestions/recommendations which can be implemented by concerned ministries and authorities.
- The article should be original (not published earlier or extracted from other sources) in English, 3000 to 4000 words (New Times Roman, font size 12, 1.5 spacing) including endnotes with proper citation.
- Citation must be according to Bluebook 20th edition.
- Articles having a plagiarism percentage exceeding 20% will not be acceptable.
Submission Guidelines
- Participants are advised to focus on the Legal Aid and services system in India, critical analysis of present legislations, government policies and schemes, role of the judiciary with regard to legal aid and services.
- Registration is to be done through the link mentioned below.
- Submission of abstracts and articles must be done on the official mail ID.
- Participants will be intimated after the successful acceptance of their abstract.

- E-certificate to all the Participants.
- Cash Prizes to the best three articles:
- Winner Rs. 5,000
- 1st Runner Up Rs. 3,000
- 2nd Runner Up Rs. 2,000
