About the Organisation
The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations (CTRCR) is a research-driven initiative at MNLU Mumbai, dedicated to policy analysis, legal research, and capacity building in commercial and corporate law.
About the Event
The competition invites original and analytical essays on various themes under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, accompanied by an online workshop on IBC conducted by leading professionals.
Eligibility
- Open to all undergraduate law students (3-year or 5-year courses) from any recognised law school in India.
- Legal professionals are not eligible for the writing competition but may attend the workshop.
Theme
Broad Theme: Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code
Suggested sub-themes include (but are not limited to):
- Interface of IBC with sectoral laws (RERA, PMLA, Competition Act, etc.)
- Treatment of dissenting creditors
- Transparency under CIRP & 2025 IBBI Amendments
- IBC and Aircraft Objects Act, 2025
- Commercial Wisdom v. Judicial Review
- Asset-wise Resolution under IBC
Submission Categories
- Single authorship
- Co-authorship (maximum 2 authors)
Prizes
- Top 3 submissions: Internship opportunity at a reputed law firm
- Top 5 submissions: Publication in the Journal on Corporate Law and Commercial Regulations
- Certificates of Merit to Top 10
Formatting Guidelines
- Word limit: 2500–3500 words (excluding footnotes)
- Font: Garamond | Size: 12 (text), 10 (footnotes)
- Citation: Bluebook 21st ed. (Footnotes only)
- File Format: .doc/.docx only (no PDFs)
- Anonymity: No identifying info in the article file
- Abstract: 150–200 words at the beginning
Selection Guidelines
- All articles undergo Turnitin plagiarism check
- Submissions with plagiarism above 15% (excluding citations) will be disqualified
- No AI-generated content beyond grammar/rephrasing tools allowed

• Co-Authors: ₹500 - Workshop (optional): ₹200 (Free for competition participants)
