It was established in 2006 by the Punjab Government as a university dedicated to the field of Legal Education. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Gurjit Singh.

Antara is the music society of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala and is dedicated to the celebration of music in all its forms. Established with a passion for harmonious melodies and rhythmic beats, Antara provides a platform for students to explore their musical talents and create unforgettable melodies together. From classical compositions to contemporary tunes, our society embraces diversity and welcomes musicians of all skill levels and tastes.

About Aafreen

Antara is pleased to organize a musical Event – “Aafreen” to celebrate and promote the rich cultural heritage of music while providing a platform for talented college students to showcase their skills. Music has the power to transcend language and cultural barriers, and AAFREEN leverages this by bringing together musicians from various backgrounds and thereby encouraging collaborations. Through a simple registration process, the competition is open to young talents helping them to identify and nurture their talents in order to provide them an opportunity to shine on a larger stage.

This is complemented by cash prizes to keep up the enthusiasm and the spirits high. The event aims to promote a zealous approach to Bollywood (filmy) music in its first edition. With the masses coming forward to showcase their talent, AAFREEN aims to diversify its categories in its future endeavors.

Eligibility

Any student pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate courses in India is eligible to register for the competition.

Theme

The theme of the competition is Bollywood (filmy) music with desi beats and compositions. 

Prizes

• 1st Prize: ₹5,000
• 2nd Prize: ₹3,000
• 3rd Prize: ₹2,000
• E-Certificates of Merit shall be awarded to the top 10 entries.
• E -Certificate of Participation shall be awarded to all the participants.

Important Dates

• Last Date for Registration (1st Round)– 25^th October 2023. (The results for the first round would be conveyed to all the participants through an email, tentatively by 5th November 2023).
• Dates for Competition (2nd Round) – 10^th-20th November 2023.
• Final Result Announcement – 25th November 2023.

Further, the Participants are mandated to attach the screenshot of payment in the above-mentioned registration form. They are directed to attach the entries as previously mentioned (Raw voice cover in video format of maximum duration of 1 minutes) for the first round in the same registration form. Only entries in video (MP4) format are acceptable.
