Andhra University, located in Visakhapatnam, is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious universities, established in 1926. It offers a wide range of courses in arts, science, engineering, law, and management. The university has a sprawling campus with excellent infrastructure and research facilities. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Law, a part of Andhra University, was established in 1945. It is one of the top law colleges in India, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in law. The college focuses on legal education, research, and advocacy training. It has a strong faculty, a well-equipped library, and a rich legacy of producing renowned legal professionals.

About Competition

A Moot Court Competition simulates a court hearing, in which participants analyse a problem, research the relevant law, prepare written submissions, and present oral arguments. Moot problems are typically set in areas of law that are unsettled or that have been subject to recent developments.

Eligibility

The Competition shall be open to students who are–

  • Pursuing an integrated 5-year Law in India or
  • Pursuing 3-year LL. B in India.
  • Team Composition: Each team, shall consist of three members, shall designate two of its members as speakers and one as researcher at the time of registration itself.
  • Only one team from the same institute can register.

Registration Fee

₹3000 per team

Prizes

  • Winners: ₹20,000 + Trophy
  • Runners-up: ₹10,000 + Trophy
  • Best Mooter: ₹5,000
  • Best Memorial: ₹5,000
  • Best Researcher: ₹5,000

Important Dates

  • Last date for registration: 20th Feb 2025 but extended till 27th Feb 2025.
  • Last Date for Memorial Submission: 12th March 2025 (Late submission till 16th March with penalty)
  • Event Dates: 21st – 23rd March 2025
