In parallel, SAMADHAN—our vibrant, student-led Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee—champions innovative methods such as mediation, negotiation, and arbitration, paving the way for a future where disputes are resolved through dialogue and understanding.

About the Competition

Inter-University Mediation Competition, 2025 (IUMC 2025) invites law students from across India to participate in an inspiring journey toward effective dispute resolution. This competition is designed to test your mediation skills in a dynamic, hybrid format—combining online preliminary rounds with advanced offline sessions at the NMIMS Indore campus. Join us to explore the art of mediation and help shape a world where justice is delivered peacefully and creatively.

Eligibility

• Open to law colleges/universities recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Each institution may nominate up to 2 teams.
• Teams must consist of 3 members: one mediator and a client-counsel pair.
• Participants must be bona fide students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LLB program for the current academic year.

Registration Fee

• Preliminary Rounds (Virtual): INR 3000 per team.
• Advanced Rounds (Offline): For qualifying teams, additional fees apply—INR 3000 for the mediating pair and INR 1500 for the mediator (covering accommodation and food).

Prizes

• Best Mediating Pair: Cash Prize of ₹20,000, Certificate of Achievement, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• Runner-Up Mediating Pair: Cash Prize of ₹12,000, Certificate of Merit, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• Best Mediator: Cash Prize of ₹7,000, Certificate of Achievement, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• Runner-Up Mediator: Cash Prize of ₹5,000, Certificate of Merit, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• 2nd Runner-Up Mediating Pair: Certificate of Merit, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• 2nd Runner-Up Mediator: Certificate of Merit, and Internship Opportunity at Tier 1 law firm.
• Best Rising Team Award: Certificate of Merit, and Internship Opportunity.
