About Internet Freedom Foundation
The Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) is an Indian non-profit organisation born out of the SaveTheInternet.in movement – where over a million Indians mobilised to take action in defence of a free and open internet.
About the Job
IFF is hiring a Litigation Counsel to lead landmark digital rights cases shaping India’s internet freedoms and constitutional law. Work with top advocates, sharpen your skills in tech, media, and law, and represent IFF on major platforms.
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university with a preference for candidates with a PQE of 1-2 years. Candidates with prior litigation or internship experience and an interest in public law, emerging and digital technologies experience will be given a preference. The applicant must be an enrolled advocate and authorised to appear in court.
Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: You will draft and review pleadings while ensuring their timely filing and listing in court, coordinate with clients and external counsels to brief arguing counsels for hearings, and attend court proceedings as necessary, which may occasionally require travel outside Delhi.
- Court-Centred Advocacy: Identify new advocacy opportunities by monitoring pending cases, media reports, and RTI responses. Maintain strong relationships with our network of clients and external counsel. Stay informed about legal developments to determine ongoing court matters where IFF can engage.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with IFF’s Parliamentary and Policy Counsel and the Transparency and RTI Counsel, you will build robust legal strategies, provide guidance to IFF’s Of Counsels, serve as the primary point of contact for the Executive Director on litigation matters, and draft and file RTIs or appeals as required.

- Communications and Community Engagement: Author blog posts and create social media content to keep the public informed about IFF’s litigation work, engage with volunteers and community members while responding to media queries, and represent IFF in talks, panels, and conferences.
