About Organisation
Erode College of Law is a private legal institution located on the Erode-Perundurai Road in Tamil Nadu. Established by the Sri Sai Sindu Foundation, it is the first law college in the Erode district. It is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in Chennai.
About the Opportunity
Erode College of Law is organising LEX PRUDENTIA – 2026, the 2nd National Level Inter-College Moot Court Competition, in a hybrid format.

The preliminary stages of the competition will be conducted virtually, while the Semi-Final and Final rounds will be held physically at the college campus.
Participation is strictly limited to 50 teams on a first-come, first-served basis. The entire competition will be conducted in English.
Theme
The moot proposition is set in the fictional Republic of Zhindiva, whose laws are pari materia with the laws of India.
The proposition brings together contemporary legal questions involving environmental law, intellectual property, privacy and emerging technologies. Key issues include:
Explore the latest legal opportunities for law students and lawyers.
- Environmental Law: The impact of an INR 18,000 crore AI data centre on groundwater resources and concerns relating to local groundwater depletion.
- Intellectual Property Law: The mass digitisation of nearly 2 million second-hand books for training a proprietary Large Language Model without obtaining licences.
- Privacy and Technology Law: Informational privacy, retention of user data and platform liability in relation to user-generated deepfakes.
Eligibility
Students pursuing either a 3-year LL.B. programme or a 5-year integrated LL.B. programme from a recognised institution are eligible to participate.
A maximum of three teams from each college or university may participate.
Each team must consist of:
- 2 Speakers and 1 Researcher, with a maximum of three members; or
- A minimum of 2 members, where the team fulfils the prescribed speaking and research requirements.
Participants must strictly maintain anonymity throughout the competition by using the Team Code allotted by the organisers. Disclosure of the name or identity of the participating institution may result in forfeiture or disqualification.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is divided according to the stages of the competition:
- Online Stage: INR 1,500 per team for the Preliminary, Octa-Final and Quarter-Final rounds.
- Offline Stage: INR 2,500 per team for teams qualifying for the Semi-Final and Final rounds.

- Best Memorial: INR 5,000 cash prize and Trophy
- Best Researcher: INR 5,000 cash prize and Trophy
All eligible participants who actively participate in the competition will also receive E-Certificates of Participation.

Registration Procedure

During registration, teams are required to:
- Fill in the prescribed details in the registration form.
- Upload a clear copy of the proof of payment.
- Upload a Bonafide Certificate issued by the participating institution, duly signed and sealed by the Head of the Institution.
- Send a scanned backup copy of the application to [email protected], wherever required.
After successful verification of the registration details, the organisers will issue a unique Team Code through email within 24 hours.
