Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai) was the first NLU to be established in the state of Maharashtra. Waves, the popular annual cultural fest of BITS Pilani, Goa is among the fastest-growing Cultural college fests in the country. Waves provide a platform to students from all over the country to showcase their astonishing talents, and experience euphoria during the concerts at night. Over the years, Waves has catapulted itself to the epitome of cultural brilliance, featuring performances by Farhan Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim-Sulaiman, Kailash Kher, Vishal-Shekhar, Amit Trivedi, Nucleya, and more. Illustrious personalities such as Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Mani Shankar (Bollywood director), and Raghu Ram have graced the fest.

About the Opportunity

Lex Omnia Moot Court Competition which is held during Waves is one of the biggest events of the fest. The event will take place in the last week of October. Lex Omnia has consistently evolved since its inception and has become bigger and better since then. The event has seen exponential growth in response over the years and is set to become the biggest event in Waves 2023.

Eligibility

  • All students enrolled bona fide in an undergraduate of Law i.e., 3 years/ 5 years from any college or university shall be eligible for participation in the competition.
  • Cross-Institutional Teams are allowed in the competition
  • The maximum number of participants in a team shall be 3. The composition of a team shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher.

Theme

There is no particular theme for the Competition.

Registration Fee

The Registration fee per team is Rs. 1500-/-. Only the teams that qualify for the memorial submission round and make it to the oral rounds, for the top 32 teams, shall have to pay the additional amount of Rs. 12000-/-

This is the list of prizes, however, the specific details, such as cash prize amounts will be shared later with the participating teams.

Important Dates

  • Deadline for Registration: 30th September 2023.
  • Deadline for Submission of Memorials: 7th October, 2023.
  • Release of Results: 12th – 15th October, 2023.
  • Oral Rounds: 27th – 29th October, 2023.

  • After the registration, the teams are required to confirm their registration by Paying the registration fees, the details of which will be shared by mail later.
  • Any change in the composition of the team will not be entertained once the memorials have been submitted except in cases of medical emergencies.
